ColorLab Color Challenge #3 - Our Journey

I am excited to be back at the ColorLab challenges after a little family vacation!

This weeks colors were Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake.

When I fist seen the colors the Travel Journal Designer Series Paper came to mind. I have been meaning to use it but have been struggling to come up with ideas for pages but being that I just got back from a big road trip I was inspired to make a "traveling" page!

I did the title in Not Quite Navy and Pumpkin Pie to accentuate the "Our Journey" theme. I used my favorite Pumpkin Pie corduroy brads for the corners of the page and smaller ones for the corners of the Kraft/Baja Breeze distressed journal box. The photos will be matted on Night of Navy cardstock and don't you just love the road map designer paper?

Here are a few more pictures to enjoy!

Love - ColorLab Color Challenge #1

I am so excited to have stumbled upon a brand new blog and a brand new challenge at Create, Ink. I love to participate in crafting challenges such as this as it offers inspiration and gets my creative motor running on high gear!

Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.

How delicious does that sound?

Those are the colors featured in this weeks challenge, and I love them to bits!

After seeing the hostess' sample card for this weeks challenge a scrapbook layout immediately popped into my head, so the credit for inspiration goes to Julie from Create, Ink!

Thanks Julie!

Like Julie, I used the Elements of Style stamp set, inked the flower images in black and colored them in with Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze markers. I inked the hummingbird in Chocolate Chip, trimmed him out and popped him up with dimensionals. I used the Big Shot to cut the letters out with Stampin' Up!'s Timeless Type Junior Alphabet and the Top Not die to create the journal box.

The photos and the journal box are matted with yummy Chocolate Chip cardstock!
